About Banerjeeoli's

Many years ago, Uncle Chuck (Alfredo who is of Italian heritage) ventured to Incredible India for work. Soon after, he brought Mary (Mama Mia), and then Sister Emily (Emilia). As they explored India, they crossed paths with their new son, Sagar Banerjee. Sagar loved hospitality, although his background was in botany, his passion was in the culinary arts.

At a young age, he did catering work. Alfredo, Mama Mia, and Emilia are also foodies with a passion for finding new tastes. They gathered recipes passed down over the years and perfected them as Sagar experimented with new flavors during his culinary training and internships in the USA (Florida).

In preparation for the launch of Banerjeeoli’s, Emilia and Mama Mia served alongside a Michelin Star chef and earnestly studied the Pizzeria business. All our food is made from scratch and served with love. We are committed to delivering an authentic Italian experience with limited accommodations to the traditional Indian palate. For this to be a true International (Continental/Western) experience, we cannot compromise on our Italian heritage recipes. We pray your experience is Bellissima (Italian for Beautiful)!

Our Leaders

Chuck Smith (President & CEO)

Chuck is a graduate of Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Chuck spent almost 40 years in the advertising and marketing business including bringing call centers to India. Chuck retired from that career in 2022. He has been visiting West Bengal regularly since 2006. Chuck currently serves as the Zone 12 Trustee for Gideons International and sits on several other organizations' boards. He proudly accepted the role of chief pizza tester during the restaurant launch process.

Sagar Banerjee (Executive Chef & COO)

Sagar was a Botany Honors graduate at Sammilani College. He went on to complete a hospitality and catering degree - Durgapur with internships in two US restaurants in Florida. Sagar finished as his culinary school batch topper. He is the YouTube podcast host of "Let's Cook and Tour" with Sagar Banerjee. Sagar credits his botany degree with adding a special understanding of how our food products blend in harmony.

Mary Smith (Chief Hospitality Officer)

Mary has her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. She has been coming to India since 2006. She has taught conversational English in several West Bengal colleges. Mary brings fun into any room she graces. Plan to join her on one of our many events.

Emily Walker (Director & Lead Trainer)

Emily has worked for 3 different Pizzeria and brings extensive knowledge of product workflow and best practices. She has formerly taught conversational English in several West Bengal colleges. Emily was certified in Christian Life and Marriage counseling at the ICL Institute in New Delhi.
